Halfway there...
The babybacks sat in a rub overnight and are now on the grill. Two burners off and the third is at very low and the temp is around 218 degrees. This is after four hours, or halfway through the eight hours I intend to cook them. Looks and smells amazing.

R to the I to the B
Swung by the "Palace of Meat" also known as Peoria Meat Market and snagged these breathtaking baby backs... Gonna give them a Memphis dry rub and let them sit overnight before an eight hour low and slow date with the Weber. Lake Street, right in front of the meat market was a mess... some cell talking broad in a minivan plowed into a semi making for quite the traffic snarl. People put down your phones and please concentrate on driving! Thank you!

Pride 2007
Got to spend some time with my old neighbor and good friend, Lenny!
After being "out of the loop" for a couple of years, it was a bit weird to head up North and get off on Addison. After doing it for years (and I DO mean years) I was somewhat uncomfortable. Lots of ghosts, so to speak, most noticeably Rudy...
Anyway saw lots of friends like Mister Jimmy Fay
Also saw my old, old boss, Bobby, and my old boss Roger. Roger advised me to walk up stairs in regards to my heftiness. Thanks!

Say cheese! no, really...say cheese....
Total chow heaven... we ate dinner at El Dorado, a Tex-Mex, Frontera Grill wannabe and lunched at Tutto Pasta.

Madison...
Yeah, so... wedding hell! We stayed at the Hilton Behind me, pro photographers snap greedily at nuptial newness.
It seems goofy to me on a bunch of levels... If this stupid country ever allows us, I think a quickie would be better than the hoopla....
(yeah, we saw elderly struggling to get up the ramp.... nothing says "Lets Start Our Lives Together" like a relative dying....)
